Interview
Can you tell us your name and role?
I’m Andrea Ciocca and as Digital Marketing Manager I’m in charge of strategizing and executing online marketing campaigns to boost brand awareness and sales.
I also manage our website’s content, oversee SEO efforts, and analyze data to optimize our digital advertising strategies.
Please provide a brief introduction/overview of Teporia.
Teporia is an online brand specialized in luxury outdoor furniture, characterized by its Italian design and focused on creating beautiful, accessible products.
Our collections are designed to enhance outdoor living spaces, promoting a lifestyle of beauty, pleasure, and openness.
Teporia offers a diverse range of products including sofas, chairs, tables, and lounges, all designed for outdoor enjoyment.
The brand emphasizes a direct-to-consumer model, selling exclusively online to keep distribution costs low and make design more accessible.
Teporia is also committed to sustainable practices, reflected in their material choices and design philosophy.
Why did you choose BigCommerce as your ecommerce platform?
As the Digital Marketing Manager, BigCommerce was recommended to me as a CMS through our partnership with Calicantus Agency, which has extensive experience in developing e-commerce platforms in this environment.
Before making a final decision, I had the opportunity to personally test BigCommerce and compare its strengths against other CMSs I am familiar with, such as Magento, PrestaShop, and WooCommerce.
I was genuinely impressed by the SaaS model, which ensures continuously updated content and new features immediately available, making the tool progressively more advanced based on direct user feedback.
What BigCommerce features and functionality do you find most useful?
Coming from traditional open-source CMS backgrounds, I also noted that BigCommerce maintains the flexibility to independently install a wide variety of applications effortlessly while managing price lists, products, and content massively through a lightweight and intuitive interface.
What results have you achieved while on BigCommerce?
Although the project has recently launched, I have already appreciated the immediacy and ease of performing maintenance and building pages through a builder that rivals those found in other CMSs focused less on e-commerce and more on immersive content.
This has allowed us to accurately represent the brand in line with the expectations of our creative director, Margherita Rui, and to manage our product listings very smoothly, thereby saving time and increasing productivity.
These advantages have enabled us to focus on UI/UX and an information hierarchy that can be easily modified independently, allowing us to dedicate more time to the results achievable from one configuration over another.
Specific Features: Can you tell us about your experience with Multi-Storefront?
Switching between different stores in the backend is remarkably smooth, and I appreciate how new features and functionalities are still being introduced in the interface.
These improvements allow for the duplication and mass modification of content, enhancing the overall management experience within the Multi-Storefront environment.
How have you been able to expand your business internationally with
BigCommerce? How many countries are you selling in at the moment?
Yes, with the support of our partner agency, Calicantus, we have been able to not only maintain our operations in Italy, where our main office is located, but also expand our presence throughout Europe.
This achievement is greatly attributed to Big Commerce’s excellent management of shipping rates, which offers various models and has allowed us to develop customized rates tailored to the needs of our customers based on their country of origin.
This capability has been instrumental in helping us grow our business internationally.
